TRONICS expands its high performance MEMS inertial sensor product line

high performance MEMS inertial sensor product line

GRENOBLE, France– November 4. 2014

TRONICS announces two new high performance MEMS angular rate sensors: the GYPRO2300LD and GYPRO3300, gyros with sub 1°/h bias instability.

TRONICS, a leading supplier of high performance MEMS inertial sensors, today announced the extension of its GYPRO® product line.

The GYPRO2300LD and GYPRO3300 are ±300°/s MEMS angular rate sensors with superior performance to the existing GYPRO2300 released early 2013. These new products are pin-compatible to the GYPRO2300 with a compact and lightweight package (0.5 cm3 / 3 grams).

With a latency reduced down to 2ms and a RMS noise lower than 0.05°/s, the GYPRO2300LD is ideally suited for stabilization applications.

GYPRO3300 offers a vibration rectification of 0.002°/s/g², making it the right choice for harsh environments with high level of shocks and vibrations.

With a Bias Instability below 1 degree per hour, and an Angular Random Walk of 0.1°/sqrt(hour), the GYPRO2300LD and the GYPRO3300 can be used for a large variety of applications such as navigation aiding, guidance and controls. High performance MEMS gyros are increasingly used in aircrafts, drones, robotics and other industrial systems.

The two new gyros will be showcased at Electronica 2014 in Munich (Nov 11-14.). GYPRO2300LD is now commercially available and the GYPRO3300 will be sampling in the first quarter of 2015. Convenient evaluation boards are available to make initial tests and system integration more efficient.

With a customer base of major system manufacturers worldwide, the GYPRO product line is the industry standard for applications that are more demanding than automotive, while not requiring ‘tactical grade’ FOG or DTG.

“TRONICS has been manufacturing high performance MEMS accelerometers and gyros for more than 10 years and is dedicated to this market for the long run”, said Pascal Langlois, CEO of Tronics. “Its GYPRO product line is positioned at the forefront of MEMS based gyro performance and will be complemented in the coming years with a high-performance Accelerometer product line called AXO”.
